Microneedling: Know Before You Go

Microneedling is a minimally-invasive procedure that regenerates skin by stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. The entire process takes about 15 minutes and the result is smoother, firmer, more even-looking skin.

Ask questions to protect your skin and your health

When done properly, microneedling is relatively risk-free and produces results with little to no downtime. The safest, most effective microneedling devices use sterile, disposable needle cartridges that reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

Ask Questions about microneedling

The key to a safe procedure with great results is to find a practice that has your safety in mind. When you schedule an appointment ask questions like, “What microneedling device do you use?” and “Does your device have a disposable tip to protect from cross-contamination?”  If they can’t answer these questions, then consider finding another practice.

What’s the risk of cross-contamination?

The risk, as noted by the FDA, is that pathogenic contaminants can enter the cartridge after a treatment and pose a risk of cross-contamination. As with any procedure, patients should take precaution when determining whether the procedure and practices is right for them.
